Although, I plan a full review of Gmail + Talk soon, I wanted to just point out that if you hit Gmail over SSL, you won't have any Talk features. Even if your account has Gmail + Talk already, you will only have those Talk features when accessing the regular http://mail.google.com/mail. I'm not sure.. keep reading
