My cat killed my bluetooth mouse with one deadly swat yesterday, so I'm back to using my wired mighty mouse. I think I've accidently clicked the side buttons about a hundred times in the last 18 hours. I guess I know what my iPhone credit is being spent on... keep reading
Here is a neat little apple script to center the frontmost window with an applescript. Just paste the script into Script Editor, save the script somewhere and then hook it up to a Quicksilver trigger... keep reading

Today is a great day. The single, most frustrating thing about iTunes has been fixed in iTunes 7.3.2. iTunes finally remembers your browse selection when you select a different source and then change back. Click the image above for a quick demo of what I'm talking about, if you don't already know... keep reading
Will the iPhone have a removable SIM card? Does anyone know for sure? Above is the top of the iPhone. It looks like the center area between the headphone jack and the wake/sleep button is the right size for a SIM card, but maybe that is just wishful thinking?.. keep reading
Camino 1.5 went gold yesterday. I have been using the betas for a while and I must say that no matter how many other browsers I give a little bit of face time (firefox, safari, shira, omniweb), nothing can even touch Camino. Camino just blows them all away... keep reading

I couple of weekends ago I picked up a new incase bag and a bluetooth mighty mouse. The wired mighty mouse was the best mouse I have ever used. Even better than microsoft mice that I have used in the past. It took me a while to get used to the weight of a mouse filled with batteries, but even after.. keep reading

I dropped into my local Apple Store this evening and picked up a new, 802.11n AirPort Extreme. I planned on replacing my separate switch and access point that I have downstairs in my home with it. I attempted this once before... okay, maybe I should start from the beginning. My cable modem and Net.. keep reading

I just watched a really great talk from Mike Pinkerton of Google and Camino. It had to do with the history of Netscape, open source software, the start of Camino and how far Camino has come... keep reading
Rather than giving my initial opinions of iTunes 7's "refreshed" interface, I decided that I would use it a bit before I ran my mouth. I just couldn't wait to post this annoyance, though. The scenario is that I have.. keep reading
Adium 1.0b12 was pushed out today and as I went through the release notes, I came across: Recipe for french toast: 1. Get into vehicle. 2. Go to location that sells french toast. 3. Order french toast. 4. Enjoy. So, I would like to just say: Yes, Adium Dev Team, there is _someone_ who actually.. keep reading
Cyberduck is a really excellent ftp/sftp client. It's powerful and it's free. I have only ever had one complaint with Cyberduck. It wasn't even really a complaint, just an annoyance... keep reading

I have to admit, these Mac ads are getting me worried. Yeah, I know I don't have anything to worry about. When I was a Windows user, I never got a single piece of spyware or a single virus. I didn't run antivirus software and I didn't have a better software firewall than came with Windows... keep reading
Although my default browser is Mozilla's Camino, I do find myself in Firefox when I need to debug some serious javascript (FireBug is really excellent). Well, I was tooling around my latest web app in Firefox and started thinking, 'Gee, these widgets look like trash'... keep reading

I've been using a news reader for over a year now, and I have noticed a lot of interesting things when it comes to productivity. I started with the famed NetNewsWire and with the launch of Reader and my love for all things Google, I gave that a try. After a while, I moved back to NetNewsWire... keep reading
Let me just start by saying that Photo Booth is a lot of fun. I absolutely love it. I honestly never thought I would use Photo Booth more than the initial 'hey, that's neat!', but I use it pretty often... keep reading
I like things to be neat and tidy. If you looked at the code I wrote, you would know exactly what I mean. Everything is perfectly consistent. I don't mind it. In fact, I like that I'm this way. There are times, though, when it is just weird. For example, if for some reason I select a particular song.. keep reading
Daniel Jalkut over at red-sweater has been doing tons of excellent detective and work around work on the MBP CPU whine issue that I believe all MBPs currently exhibit. My MBP has the whine at least. ZDNET Australia reports today that Mac OS X was hacked in less than 30 minutes. Well, that's probably the most horrible title to an article I have every read in my life considering the contest in question gave the contestants local ssh access to try and gain root access. As my frien.. keep reading

I don't care for rumors. Sure an Apple Tablet would have been neat, but I didn't expect it. Sure a real video iPod would be neat, but I didn't expect that either. An interesting post over at AppleInsider suggests that because of today's speed bumps to the MacBook Pro line, this may mean that the hopefully soon to come Intel iBooks (or as I think they'll be called, the MacBooks), could include the slower 1.67GHz Core Duos rather than the earlier suspected 1.67.. keep reading
Like Path Finder 3.whatever I tried a few months ago, so far the best feature i see in 4 is turning on hidden files. I love being able to see hidden files. Otherwise, yeah I'm still not so impressed. A couple of months back the scroll ball on my Mighty Mouse stopped scrolling down. I could scroll up, but not down. When you scrolled it up, you would hear the scrolling 'click' noise. Update: Apparently, the iMac G5 in the video was pretty messed up so it isn't a fair video. Maybe I'll test it with my iMac G5 when I get home. Here is a video of the iMac Intel vs the iMac G5 booting up simultaneously (at least, that's what should happen). I would love to see an iM.. keep reading

I've been doing pretty well the whole "don't obsessively check my news reader" thing.
