(In)consistency


I've spent the past two days dealing with inconsistencies in RSS feeds across sites. There are a lot of tools out there to help ease the pain, but if you aren't going to put what I actually want into the feed, why can't you at least keep things consistent on your site so that I can figure out another way to get what I want?

The site I'm talking about is TMZ.com. For some reason, on their posts that have videos, they sometimes use a thumbnail image that links out to their flash video player and other times, they embed the player into the post. Why wouldn't you just do it one way or the other?

I can understand inconsistencies across sites, but not keeping things consistent within your own site just ends up being more work for you and I both. It's going to be a long night.
