Jing - Quickly Share Screen Captures
For the past few weeks I have been using an application called Jing. Jing is by far one of the most useful applications I have ever used. With Jing, you can quickly capture your screen as an image that you can annotate with Jing's annotation tools or as video. Once captured, you are given a chance to save or share the image or video. Click share and your image or screencast is uploaded (remarkably fast) directly to your Screencast.com account (which you create when you start Jing for the first time) and Jing automatically puts the URL to the image or video on your clipboard so that you can easily paste it to someone. With Jing handy, I find myself being able to answer questions more easily by quickly demonstrating how to perform the specific task in question rather than writing out step by step instructions. Sure I could use a screen capture application but you can't just go and send screencasts off to someone because of their size. With Jing, all you have to do is send the link and let them watch the full quality video that was uploaded to your free Screencast.com account.
