I've been doing pretty well the whole "don't obsessively check my news reader" thing. The successful first step was definitely moving back to NetNewsWire so that I didn't have access to my up to date subscription list everywhere I was. The second and almost as important step was to remove the link to Reader from the bookmark toolbar of each of the browsers I use. Although the url to Reader is easy to remember, if I have to consciously think about checking my news, I have the will power to stop myself. If the link is sitting right in front of me though, it makes much more difficult.
